Travel is an activity that most people aspire to. However, not all places on earth are safe for the casual traveler. One might ask what are the worlds ten most violent countries to avoid when making travel plans.

Madagascar has seen an increase in violent crime due to civil disobedience and political unrest.

Colombia is not safe to travel to because violence by narco-terrorist groups continues in all areas of the country.

Yemen should be avoided because of an increase in terrorist activity, according to the State Department.

Georgia has become increasingly dangerous. Travel there should be avoided at all costs. There are no specific targets.

Libya is not safe for anyone to visit. The country continues to fight unrest. Terrorist activities are high here.

Somalia has not had a functioning government in roughly 15 years. Lawlessness runs rampant here.

Even though Afghanistan is war-torn, people are still visiting. It is not recommended anyone visit the region.

The people of Pakistan are losing confidence in their own government. Civil unrest is alive and well in this country.

Haiti has a critical crime level and a lack of adequate infrastructure. This has caused the country to be unsafe.
